Great and consistent
The packages don't look anything like this photo but I've been buying Yogourmet packets for literally over 15 years starting in the health food store and now on Amazon and elsewhere. I can't rely on having left over yogurt to start a new batch and with this you don't have to!It is consistent in the activity and vigor of the culture and it makes cold start yogurt a breeze. It even works with lactose free UP milk.I have also added a tablespoon of purchased plain Greek yogurt just to make the fermentation more robust and to vary the strains. That works great also. It works with or without a sugar substrate (for sugared yogurt I use sweetened condensed milk).I've even been able to get yogurt made in a milk carton in my oven when I need a bunch and was out of vessels. The Pyrex half gallon glass measuring pitcher works supremely well if I'm not using my pressure cooker.So many options and this supports them all.

Nice thick yogurt
Why did you pick this product vs others?:I have been trying to make a good thick yogurt out of my goats milk for years it always comes out super thin or gluey this stuff worked perfect it came out nice and thick like Greek yogurt I'm thrilled

Great started for yogurt
Great Yogurt started. Lasts as along as the milk that you made it from. Better tasting than the stores in my opinion. I use whole milk. Much better tasting than low fat or non fat..

Price was increased by 40% from last year!
I will never buy this item again because you increased your product by 40% from last year! What's the point of making your own yogurt in this inflationary time if the company is going to increase the product by 40%? I will find a cheaper alternative and I'm disappointed in this company would not recommend. It's a very weak starter anyways...

Yogourmet Yogurt Starter is the one.
Yogourmet Yogurt Starter is the only one I use. I've never had any problems with it—my yogurt always turns out great, with a thick and strong consistency. Note, we always use whole milk.

Some packets did not work correctly
Love this starter! However last shipment had at least two defective packets that did not make yogurt.

It works
It makes nice firm yogurt with little liquid. The shelf is not long just over a week. Stores best in glass jar in fridge. I like using the instant pot to make yogurt and this product does well
