Household Essentials 5614 Double Hamper Laundry Sorter with Magnetic Lid, Brown Coffee Linen

This is the second time I’ve purchased the product. I first purchased this product in 2017, and it was great. While the dimensions of the old and new are the same, the new version is decidedly more flimsy. The construction is not as precise, and lower quality materials were clearly used in the new version. The only reason I purchased the new version is that both are cloth construction, and the years of dirty laundry funk were catching up with the old version. I have very low confidence that the new product will last as long. But, at least the new one cost 25% more!

I've owned the double hamper 5 years now. It's held up fine. Don't put anything heavy on it, or it may collapse a bit, like mine did. However, it still works fine. Came with separate bags and had the velcro. Definitely worth the price.

I have had this unit for about 3 years and overall it has held up alright. After 3 years of standard use the exterior and bottom have not torn any of the material. To be picky if you dump it upside down the bottom panel pops out. The only point of concern is the trim around handle holes. It held up for a few months but the handles are made of 2 pieces of metal help together by some small tabs, they slowly split and fall off. It has not been a deal breaker, but it would be nice if they had survived. I still think its a good hamper and most of my satisfaction comes from the ease of setup and the it just seems to be the right dimensions for me.

It comes no surprise when ordering products off of Amazon that some products work great and some definitely do not, This product is in between. It services its purpose flawlessly but the construction of this hamper likes to fold a lot when there's no clothing/towels in them.

I was not expecting much from this hamper... the price was stopping me from getting something that looked like it could be made of flimsy cardboard. I was wrong. I was very surprised at how heavy the package was when it arrived. I opened it right away and it took 60 seconds to set up. It is very sturdy compared to what I thought it would be... you can't stand on it but you can have folded laundry on top and when it gets full you don't have to worry about it tipping over. I was tired of having dirty laundry just sticking out like a sore thumb in the white plastic basket. It's embarrassing when 4 days go by and the laundry looks like it hasn't been done in weeks. We don't have a laundry room as you can see in the pics, so I wanted some thing that would hide the laundry and look nice, while having a second slot to have my husband throw his "special" cotton shirts in so they don't get mixed in with the regular laundry and get shrunk in the process. So now those shirts go on the left with my clothes and his work clothes go on the right side where I don't have to worry about his dirty clothes touching my delicates. :) Win Win Win! I am very surprised on the minimal options of laundry baskets out there that either $80 and not that attractive, or are not attractive at all and cheaply made. I wanted something that I can have out since I don't have a laundry room and this was the middle option and I am happy with it. Check out the pictures... I seen a picture of a girl standing in it and I figured it was definitely big enough. So I just took a couple regular pictures. The lid Velcros on but it's strong Velcro and I haven't had it budge yet. (Please don't mind the room we are fixing up the house to sell it, which is why I chose the grey color. The surrounding rooms are now grey and so will that room. And a sliding barn door to finally cover the appliances that I lived with for 7 years like that... your welcome to whoever buys the house. Lol sorry about the outburst but I had to get that off my chest.)

I ordered this hamper from Amazon, and it arrived one day early which really pleased me! I read several reviews saying their hamper had a pungent stench to it, so when I opened mine the first thing I did was smelled it, and I didn't smell anything but fabric. That made me feel a lot better because I was wary after reading other peoples reviews. It is a great color! A rich brown color- so yes I would agree with coffee colored, I'm not sure if there is a better way to describe it. I love that it has tan accents around the top and the edges of the lid. It is a great size! I couldn't find another hamper this size with the double sorter for the price I paid. I have a cat who likes to get into everything, so i really like this hamper with the lid because she can jump on top of it and not get into my dirty clothes. Also, my fiance and I are having a baby so I was looking for bigger sized hampers with lids so that I can hold all our clothes until I have time to do laundry, and I wanted a lid so that 1) children can't climb into it and get stuck, and 2) When people are over they don't have to look at my dirty clothes, and I don't have to either. This hamper blends in great with my room people hardly ever notice it!The only complaint is the lid is magnetic. There are only 2 small magnets on both sides of the lid to hold it in place, which works fine when the lid is closed. However, when I go to open it the lid slides right off. I'm thinking about adding some velcro to the back part of the lid and hamper to help this problem.I would recommend this hamper to anyone, but I would also tell them to get some velcro.

This is a solid laundry bin with two separate compartments that can hold 2 loads each. It is sturdy and can be collapsed if needed. The only downside is that it does not have individual bags that can be taken out of the compartments (and washed), hence 4 stars.

Note that the pictures are misleading as the 2 black cloth containers and the Velcro are not included

Really useful if you want to keep dirty washing separated without having the 'white' or 'colours' labels. Very sturdy and roomy compared to other laundry baskets.

Just got this and I couldn't be more impressed. It's bigger than I expected (which is good), quite sturdy and it looks very stylish.

Large, strong, well made and very useful. Not suitable for storing anything heavy on top.
