SaferCCTVOil Fuel Tank Crankcase Housing with Oil Fuel Cap Assembly Replacement Compatible with Stihl 021 MS210 023 MS230 025 MS250 Chainsaw Replace 1123 020 3003

I have worked with and repaired a lot of chainsaws. I own 6 and there is always something to repair. This is not a easy job. It took me about four hours, including general futzing around. If you have done the same job before and have all the parts on hand maybe 2hours. I have the shop workshop manual and it was still (stihl?) a challenge. Not suggested for someone without the tools, a workshop manual and good mechanical skills. If so, have at it. It is kinda fun.Two things that may be of interest. The unit does not have an antiback flow gas tank vent as pictured. There were two different types and it needs the later revision. If you have an early model 021 you will need an updated vent. It is smaller diameter. The tank has the nub to install it but not the tube or vent as in the picture. Also it has a side chain tensioner, not the end tensioner as shown in the picture. Also note the chain oiler pump takes a long time to prime.

It fit my Stihl 025 to a T. No issues with hole alignment or with the tank. Saw runs great.

Everything fit perfect except oil pump set too deep. Back it out a bit and work/oils fine now.

Oil pump was wrong size put the older in the bond had to use the old one also the new couch seem to be awfully tight old ones were better

Direct replacement, the plastic stud inserts went bad on my old saw housing.

This says it’s compatible with the O25. It is not. Where the brake handle goes,There is a little lever with a spring that attaches to a pin on the original. on this one, There is no pin and it actually has a different size piece. I had to drill and modify it to make it work, but I don’t trust it. Very disappointing.

Had no issues installing all original MS250 parts. The fit was fine. I have since used the saw a lot and the saw is performing better than when new. Would recommend.

Funcionaron bien pero los "orings" que traen la tapas se inchan con la mezcla del combustible y no dejan cerrar las tapas, se soluciono usando los empaque de las tapaa viejas, tambien la bomba lubricadora de cadena no coincidio con la medida de la cuerda del "sin fin" pero se soluciono usando la bomba vieja, en general por el costo me parece un maravilloso producto.

My Stihl MS250 Chainsaw suffered an impact on its handle that cracked the fuel tank area of the housing eventually leaking all its fuel. To repair various glues, epoxies were tried but would eventually fail from exposure to gasoline, high vibration, etc. The saw's warranty had lapsed and the repair shop's high cost quote left no alternative but to try this housing to save this chainsaw. The swap, not easy, wasn't super difficult either. Saw runs as it should with NO LEAKS! Excellent value and quality. Very happy with result, Mikey
