I tried these with my 1 year old, 3 year old, & 4 year old grandkids. As you can see in the pictures, the 3 & 4 year old kids made a tower with them. They were not interested in making any other design with them. The 1 year old liked to put them in her mouth & then in the container. This did not bother me since the pieces are soft, have no hard edges, are easy to wash, not small enough to swallow, and are LEAD-FREE, BPA-FREE and PTHALATE-FREE. These toys are recommended for ages 3+. In my opinion, this toy would be very useful for kids under 3 who are learning the colors and numbers. The colors the pieces are bright red, yellow, green and red. They came in a nice see through container with a lid with handle. My 3 and 4 year old grandkids liked screwing the lid on and off as well as carrying the container by the handle.

I’m an anti LEGO/DUPLO person for one reason only: I can’t stand stepping on them...These are a wonderful alternative for small children! They are soft, easy to wash off, and most importantly easy to find them all to put them away.I would highly recommend these to anyone who wants to let their kids have construction blocks to create and play with but doesn’t want to deal with lots of tiny sharp squares all over the place all the time.They come in a handy container with a lid/handle too so they travel to friend’s houses for play dates nicely as well!!UPDATE: I posted a picture with a crayon to show scale of the blocks.

Was a little nervous buying something without reviews but was so happy with this purchase! My 3 and 5 year old boys loved it. They took to it right away... just wish there were more of them!

I ordered the MECY STEM Building Blocks for my two daughters who are 7 and 3 years old. They both enjoy designing and building things. They like the MECY STEM Building Blocks, because they differ from other blocks they are used to building with. The features my daughters noticed first were the soft texture and bright colors. They also like that the blocks can be connected in different ways. They can be stacked on top of each other and squeezed together side by side. Each set also comes with a sheet of design ideas that my kids were easily able to recreate by themselves. I thought the excitement of these blocks would wear off quickly like it does with other toys, but my kids keep coming back to play with the MECY STEM Building Blocks daily. My 19-month-old grandson loved these as a Christmas present! They are a good weight, and sorta squishy, in his hands. He loved sticking them together one on top of the other and pulling them apart. He hasn't mastered the side-by-side sticking together too well yet. He loved sorting them by their colors, too!
