I cheaped out and bought this just to save $10 or so. Big mistake. This solder has a much higher melting point than quality stuff. Even if you can get it to flow without melting the thing you are soldering to (50/50 chance) once it flows and cools, it turns to some type of brick that can't be re-melted unless you have a blow torch. To make things worse, I needed to use added flux because this stuff has sporadic amounts of it it seems depending on where you are in the spool. And to add insult to injury, the flux reeks of death when it melts. Do yourself a huge favor and just get some quality solder. Yes, it is probably double the price but we are still only talking like $10-15 more here. It will be worth it in saved damage due to over heating and cold solder joints you will get with this junk. You can get a pound of excellent quality Kester solder for a little over $20. I gave it 2 stars because it is technically solder and I save 1 star for things just totally misrepresented. I believe this is the same junk harbor freight tosses in for free with one of their el cheap soldering guns.

I am used to using lead so it was a bit of an adjustment figuring out how to make this flow the best, but it seems to work almost as well. The price was great, and there seems to be just enough flux to make it stick as long as you don't overheat it. It's very thin but that was intentional on my behalf, for very small joints.
