Broken in under a month
I initially loved these, but I had them for less than a month before the paint chipped and two cracked completely open. I don't know if they got too cold or what, but I didn't expect this.

Cute, easy to use, good value!
These are great! I had a mold issue with my indoor plants, so I got sand to cover the soil and keep the mold from forming. When I next watered my plants, the sand was pushed aside and the dirt was exposed. So I got these little guys - they keep the sand in place, the mold stays away, and my plants get water.Since the terracotta hogs water until it's saturated, I suggest soaking them before you use them, until the air bubbles are gone. Then "screw" into your planter and volià!They make it easy to see when your plants need water, hold water bottles so your plants get water while you're away (I haven't done this yet, but tested with an empty bottle just to see how it would go - worked great, but use a long neck bottle for the most stability), and they are quite adorable!

Cute but don’t work well
While adorable, they don’t actually do what they need to do. Since the painted owl takes up about 1/4 of the stake there is less surface area for the soil to pull from. All the plants I used these stakes on failed. All the plants I used the non cute but full length stakes on thrived. Womp. Womp.

Very fragile
They look nice, but one just broke as I was putting it into a houseplant pot. The terra cotta spikes with no decoration are far more durable.

Great Looking and Helpful but Far From Perfect
These are really cool. I really like the design and how ‘cute’ they are. I also like that I can be gone for a week and it will slowly water the plants to hopefully help prevent them from dying. However, they don’t really water the plants much at all. It’s so slight. Still happy I bought them but not too happy with them.

Cute as heck but one broken
Well I was sooooooo excited to get these and although they’re adorable and looked to be well packaged, one came broken....the one I was most excited about too. I am hoping someone will read this and replace the broken red owl for me. Other than that, these are so cute and im excited to use them.

Excellent except for the strong chemical smell
Cute & smart investment to keep my plants watered while away or just not gave to water them as often while home! ...docked 1 star because they had a VERY strong chemical/paint smell. Good thing I'm only using them outside.

Works for two weeks
I travel a lot and no one else remembers to water my outside plants so I really needed something. I tried the cheap little spouts and the super expensive Jobs system neither system lasted more than two days. These last two weeks using used wine bottles. Perfect.

Brilliant system for vacationers
Wanted to wait a few weeks to write a review. While I wish the owl heads were bigger so you could actually see them over the edge of my planters, the terra cotta stake watering system is AMAZING. Being able to add water to a 700ml wine bottle myself as compared to the tiny reserves of water other systems offer you, means I can actually go on a lengthy vacation! As soon as the pandemic ends, I'm gone! The instructions say to remove the stake each time you water, but you don't have to. Once the bottles are empty, simply fill them up with water again and pop them back in. No mess and if a little water dribbles over, well that's going to get absorbed by top soil anyway.

Price and quality wise. Terracotta Stakes collector here.
Herbs, tomato and pepper plants love it. This is not the first time for me to use terracotta stakes and I bought one that more expensive but only 4 pcs and they have excellent built to it but price wise compare to this for 6 pcs and $35+ price ranges. Actually I am going to buy more and it’s ready to go in my cart. Happy customer

These are great
These are so cute. I soaked mine overnight, and they work perfectly. I use a glass Pop bottle for smaller plants, and a wine bottle for larger ones. My plants are happy. They were packaged very securely in styrofoam.

Owls look cuter in pic than real life
These don’t look as cute in real life as the pictures. Painted owl faces feel cheap and look sloppy. They are doing the job of watering the plants, so that the upside.
