Fantasy Flight Games Star Wars Legion: Core Paint Set, SWS52

I normally use Privateer Press paints or Vallejo. I took a chance on these since they had most of the colors I would need for the core box. I especially love the Strong Tone wash. These paints seem very similar to Vallejo quality wise and I had mistaken them for Vallejo paints initially.I have not tried airbrushing with them yet, but I imagine you would thin them the same way you would Vallejo paints. Army Painter has their own airbrush medium, but you could also use Vallejo's or similar if you prefer.I love the dropper style bottles as they keep the paint from drying out instead of painting from the paint pots.The price of the set vs buying the paints individually was a great deal. You can expand with the Rebel and Imperial sets to get highlight and shade colors as well as other colors geared towards those factions.I will definitely be buying some of the other sets

A friend and I purchased the clone wars starter set a few weeks back. He chose the separatist and I choose the clones. I ordered this set for myself because during Covid-19 was causing delays in shipping out the clone paint set, acrylic paint was hard to come by. The colors in this complete Imperial and Rebellion paint set are great, but there is no solid black acrylic paint. The Sith robes color is the closest, but in is a black / brown tint. All the other colors fit all my other needs.

I used it to paint my WH40K miniatures. The metallic colors have poor coverage.

Great product. With these and flight games 's tutorials you get to paint in no time as a beginner.

I received the product, and the quality of paints is wonderful, like most of Army Painter's products. The issue came with the two brushes that were supplied. The 0 was broken at the tip completely and unusable, and the 1 was missing completely from the box. This is not a deal breaker for me as I already have plenty of brushes from painting various other minis, but I could see this being an issue for someone new to the hobby and bought this as their intro into the hobby.

Good paint set. Will get the job done for most models. You might have to mix somethings on your own and the price was a little high.

Overall these paints seemed thin and required several coats. They were frustrating to work with, and I ended up wasting a lot of paint due to the design of the bottles. I ended up ordering a set of Citadel paints which come in pots so you don't have to pour them out, and were thicker and much easier to work with. The brushes went right into the garbage. Overall, I wish I'd skipped this purchase.
