When I saw the box show up on my doorstep, and it was tall and skinny, I realized the mat must be rolled up. I expected the usual "Please allow 72 hours for mat to relax and lie flat" thing. But it came out of the box, sprang open, and is lying completely flat on our hardwood floor.It has a nice texture to the surface, allowing the casters on our office chair to roll; it's not so slick and smooth that the chair tries to get a way from you.I'm surprised by the quality. We only received it a couple days ago. It seems like it will hold up, but I can't vouch for durability until we've had it a good long while.

What was nice about this mat was that it arrived in a large flat box. I didn't need to unroll it or have to weight it down to lay flat. It fits really well at my desk. I purchased the 36x48 with the lip, I like that feature. I will say it does not stay in place very well, it slips around some. I have it on a vinyl floor and the description says it will work on that type of floor. Other than that, so far, I'm happy with my purchase.

Very sleek design and look. Nearly unnoticeable once on hard floor surfaces. Easy for chairs wheels to go on and off chair mat if needed. Low profile aiding in low risk trip hazard.

This protective cover stays in place and looks great in the office

The only positive thing I can say about this is that it was shipped flat. Otherwise, it's an EXTREMELY thin (to the point where I am afraid it will crack) piece of polycarbonate that - despite being placed rough side-down - has a very worrying tendency to slip. I've owned other floor protectors over the years bought through this site, and they were far superior to this.Normally, you can trust 4+ star reviews on Amazon, but this is a clear case where the rating is very wrong. This is not a good item.

Fit

I loved this chair mat for about a month, and then, almost to the day, it developed a crack! I have just about given up on finding an affordable chair mat for my purposes. Personally, I think the primary cause of problems with chair mats cracking are the cheap, hard plastic wheels that most task chairs offer without upgrading to a much better wheel with an additional cost, of course! I am pretty sure this is akin to a conspiracy to gloss over this fact by all manufacturers because they know that most of us are not aware of this problem until after we have spent several hundreds of dollars on multiple chair mats and even upgraded chair wheels which may or may not work better!More manufacturers need to begin producing products for at-home workers now...most of our homes are carpeted, or have upgraded wood flooring and both of those scenarios are not conducive to using office chairs meant for use in commercial or industrial grade flooring (hard concrete, linoleum, tiling, etc.)
