Question for others.
I could not find a place to ask a detailed question. So the review area is where i can hopefully get an answer.I have a 2 pin detachable marine light. Wired in through a 20amp switch. Dc. Light worked fine whole anchored. It burned out in 5 minutes under power. Is there a resistor (can bus) in this bulb? I need to know so i can order a bulb with low draw for night fishing.Bulb was bright until it burned up inside.

Brightening up antique memories!
I recently repaired a friend's 1950s vintage Stereo Realist 3D photo viewer. The original bulb was dim and the modern krypton replacements I bought were just a bit better. So I took a chance with this here newfangled solid state contraption and was very pleased with the much, much brighter result. However - when I first installed the bulb it didn't light and I assumed I'd received a DOA (dead on arrival) unit. Then I remembered that the "D" in "LED" stands for DIODE- an electronic component that only allows current to flow in one direction. On a whim I reversed the batteries - and therefore the direction of the current - and voila! Shiny new 21st-Century photons streaming through stereo slides that hadn't been seen since Eisenhower was in the White House. A good time was had by all.

Not a match to listing photo
The photo did not match the bulb I received. It had a threaded base. I couldn’t use it.

Acceptable Replacement for E-10 2.5 volt bulb
I bought this LED bulb not knowing for sure if it would work in the device I had in mind. For anyone who is wondering, the base of this bulb fits an E-10 socket. The bulb is an acceptable replacement for a 2.5 volt battery powered bulb. I put it into a stereo slide viewer and the only change I had to make was to reverse both batteries so that the positive connection was feeding into the base of the bulb. The bulb is much brighter and whiter than the original filament style bulb. Also, based on the current specifications, I expect the batteries will last much longer using this bulb. I am buying more, to replace bulbs in other devices, now that I know it works so well.

Great Little Bulb For Old Stuff
I like these little bulbs to upgrade an old tool to the 21st century. Nice bright white light and very low battery usage is the upshot with no downside as far as I'm concerned. I plunked one into an old vintage 1960's handheld slide viewer of all things (the AA batteries in it were labeled as "Penlight" not "AA") and it was sooo much better. Also used one in an old style illuminated magnifying glass that I use at my desk for various things. Once again the light is just so much better than what was in it.
